Review - The Body Shop Born Lippy Lip Balm in Watermelon

I have been using The Body Shop Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm's for as long as I can remember and have always thought very highly of them, being one of The Body Shop's most well-known and bestselling stock. The Body Shop currently offer many lip balms in many different flavours, such as The Born Lippy Pot Lip Balms in Strawberry (recently reviewed on my blog - link below), Raspberry, Watermelon, Satsuma Shimmer, Passionberry (which I have also reviewed on my blog - link below), and also the newer Born Lippy Stick Lip Balms in Strawberry, Plum, Pink Berry, Lychee, Pomegranate and Toffee.

The Body Shop claims that their Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm in Watermelon moisturises and conditions lips and gives your lips a soft pink tint with a gorgeous shine finish and this is exactly what the lip balm does! The lovely lip balm also has a fruity watermelon flavour to it, which I cannot get enough of and neither can my boyfriend when I apply it onto my lips... a DEFINITE first date lip balm! The Body Shop say that the lip balm is " a glossy and moisturising lip balm, with a sweet fruity flavour, that leaves lips looking and feeling soft, smooth and kissable. Our cult lip balm in a pot gives colour, flavour and moisture for more kissable lips". The lip balm inside the pot is a gorgeous nude pink colour and creates a gorgeous gloss on your lips (as you can see on my hand below). I do wish that the colour from the pot would go onto your lips as it is almost clear.

The consistency of the lip balm is almost like a really smooth, thick jelly balm which I adore as you can instantly tell that the lip balm will moisturise and condition your lips.

The ingredients which make up the gorgeous lip balm are:- Ricinus Communis, Lanolin, Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax, Aroma (Fragrance), Cera Alba, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Silica, Benzyl Benzoate, Citrillus Vulgaris, Tocopheryl Acetate, Limonene, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Benzyl Alocol, Tocopherol, Linalool, Methyl 2- Octynoate, CI 77891, CI 19140 and C1 15850.

As you can see above, Beeswax is one of the ingredients which is sourced from Guide D'Espoir in Cameroon (means "Guiding Hope) where they produce some of the highest quality beeswax but where they also are investing in the development of the beekeepers and their communties, This product is Fair Trade and helps provide regular employment and fair wages to approximately 1,000 beekeepers, which in total helps around 10,000 people.

The other flavours you can purchase are Passionberry (which I have previously reviewed on my blog - link below), Raspberry, Strawberry (recently reviewed on my blog - link below), Satsuma and Pink Guava which all smell so delicious. These lip balms are perfect to wear on a night out, possibly on top of a lipstick when you may be getting a cheeky kiss as they all taste so gorgeous.

As I said in my previous review on the Born Lippy Lip Balm in Passionberry (link below), I made it my mission to purchase the balm in the flavours Watermelon and Strawberry, so now that I have purchased both I am now making it my mission to purchase some other Body Shop products which I can try out - if you would like me to try out and review anything in particular then please leave a comment below.

These lip balms are such a bargain being £2.00 for 10ml, and I find that they last for ages, even when you are constantly applying the balm to your lips like myself. You can purchase them from The Body Shop store or online their website (link below) and I would definitely repurchase this lip balm and other Body Shop lip balms.

Have you ever tried any of these Born Lippy lip balms from The Body Shop, and if so what do you think of the product? What is your favourite Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm?

Review - The Body Shop Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm in Strawberry

I have been using The Body Shop Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm for as long as I can remember and have always thought very highly of them, being one of The Body Shop's most well-known and bestselling stock. The Body Shop currently offer many lip balms in many different flavours, such as The Born Lippy Pot Lip Balms in Strawberry, Raspberry, Watermelon, Satsuma Shimmer, Passionberry (which I have also reviewed on my blog - link below), and also the newer Born Lippy Stick Lip Balms in Strawberry, Plum, Pink Berry, Lychee, Pomegranate and Toffee.

The Body Shop claims that their Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm in Strawberry moisturises and conditions lips and gives your lips a red tint with a gorgeous shine finish and this is exactly what the lip balm does! The lovely lip balm also has a fruity strawberry flavour to it, which I cannot get enough of and neither can my boyfriend when I apply it onto my lips... a DEFINITE first date lip balm! The Body Shop say that the lip balm is " a glossy and moisturising lip balm, with a sweet fruity flavour, that leaves lips looking and feeling soft, smooth and kissable". The lip balm inside the pot is a gorgeous deep red/pink colour and when applied to your lips, it creates a gorgeous sheer pink/red colour on your lips (as you can see on my hand below).

The consistency of the lip balm is almost like a really smooth, thick jelly balm which I adore as you can instantly tell that the lip balm will moisturise and condition your lips.

I love the really cute packaging of these Body Shop Born Lippy Pot Lip Balms as they come in such sweet plastic pots. However, I would prefer this in a stick as I do find it quite unhygienic dipping your finger into pots and then onto your lips... I always had this problem at school with products like Vaseline and therefore I would hardly ever share out my lip balm!

The ingredients which make up the gorgeous lip balm are:- Ricinus Communis Seed Oil (Emollient), Lanolin (Emollient), Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax (Emulsifier), Parfum (Fragrance), Cera Alba (Emulsifier/Emollient), Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emollient), Silica (Absorbent), Tocopheryl Acetate (Antioxidant), Carthamus Tinctorius Seed Oil (Occlusive, Skin Conditioning Agent), Ammonium Glycyrrhizate (Flavour), Aroma (Flavour), Fragaria Vesca Fruit Extract (Natural Additive), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Cl 15850 (Colour).

The other flavours you can purchase are Passionberry (which I have previously reviewed on my blog - link below), Raspberry, Watermelon, Satsuma and Pink Guava which all smell so delicious. These lip balms are perfect to wear on a night out, possibly on top of a lipstick when you may be getting a cheeky kiss as they all taste so gorgeous.

As I said in my previous review on the Born Lippy Lip Balm in Passionberry (link below), I made it my mission to purchase the balm in the flavours Watermelon and Strawberry, so now that I have purchased the Strawberry lip balm it is just the Watermelon one I need to purchase now.

Review - Whittard of Chelsea Lychee & Mango Instant Tea

Whittard of Chelsea's 'Lychee & Mango Instant Tea' is one of my new favourite drinks to enjoy both hot or cold.

Whittard's describe their Lychee & Mango flavoured tea as "a sweet exotic mixture of delicate lychee and juicy mango flavours", which this description definitely sums up the drink, being so refreshing over ice on these hot days but also a really love hot drink to snuggle up with. I have also seen on their website that a customer recommended adding a splash of Malibu to your Lychee & Mango tea, which makes a perfect Summer beverage so I shall have to try that one!

On the back of the tub it explains Whittard's - "In 1886 young Walter Whittard opened a small shop in London, full of gleaming tea caddies ad brass weighing scales, known for its unique blends of tea. First inspired by the traditional Turkish apple drink, our instant Tea range now boasts an unrivalled host of delicious flavours".

This instant tea contains:- Cane Sugar, Citric Acid, Black Tea Extract (1.5%) and natural flavouring, and is suitable for both vegans and vegetarians. There are 78 calories per 20g of instant tea, so therefore a glass of instant tea (by Whittard's directions below) will put you back 234 calories.

On the back of the tub, there are directions on how to make the perfect instant tea:-
1) Spoon three heaped teaspoons (20g) to 200ml water, or according to taste.
2) Serve over ice for a long summer punch, or add hot water, curl up and enjoy as a soothing winter warmer.

The Lychee & Mango Instant Tea retails for £5.50 on Whittard's website (link below) which I think is such a good price, considering how large the tub is (475g). I also have to mention how much I adore the gorgeous design on the tub (I think this is actually what drew me into this flavour as I love the colours on the parrot... yes I am a HUGE sucker for packaging).

Have you ever tried Whittard of Chelsea's Lychee & Mango Flavour Instant Tea or any other Whittard of Chelsea's products which you think I should try?

Review - Whittard of Chelsea Luxury White Hot Chocolate

Whittard of Chelsea's Luxury White Hot Chocolate really is amazing, being so smooth and creamy and tasting absolutely incredible!!!!

Whittard's describe their Luxury White Hot Chocolate as a drink which "captures the exquisite sweetness of white chocolate to the full. It is deliciously smooth and decadent drink with a melt-in-the-mouth intensity that leaves you wanting for more. Deliciously creamy and as soft as velvet, it's not hard to see why this is one of our best-selling hot chocolates".

On the back of the tub of Luxury White Hot Chocolate it explains Whittard's - "Walter Whittard opened his first shop in 1886. Hot chocolate was at the heart of the business from the very start, and the shop was farmed for its cocoa. Walter's original promise was to buy the best. Today we continue to supply sensational flavours to exceed your expectations".

This hot chocolate contains:- sugar, cocoa butter, skimmed milk powder, whey powder, dextrose, salt, emulsifier, flavouring and also contains milk. It is suitable for Vegetarians and Coeliacs, but not suitable for Vegans and those with Lactose intolerance. A 20g serving of this will put you back 91 calories on your daily intake, so therefore a mug would be 273 calories. (see picture below for all the nutritional facts).

On the back of the tub it explains to you how you can make a perfect hot chocolate:-
1) Spoon 3 heaped teaspoons (20g) into a mug or cup, maybe a couple more if you are feeling decadent.
2) Gently heat approximately 200ml of milk and pour onto the chocolate stirring throughly.
3) For a moment of true indulgence, top with whipped cream, marshmallows and a generous sprinkle of hot chocolate powder.

I love this hot chocolate so much as it is perfect for snuggling up with a blanket and watching your favourite film with your loved ones as a lovely treat. It has a texture which is so smooth and creamy that you just want more and more and is totally irresistible.

The Luxury White Hot Chocolate retails for £5.50 on Whittard's website (link below) which I think is such a good price, considering how large the tub is (375g).

Review - Zico Coconut Water in 'Chocolate' *

I was very kindly offered by Zico to try Zico Chocolate as I had written in my Zico Original and Zico Mango Review (link below) that I would love to try the flavour, so they sent me 12 bottles to try which was a lovely surprise! For me, chocolate and coconut are a perfect combination as they are my two favourite ingredients so I could not wait to try Zico Chocolate.

I can honestly say that Zico Chocolate is possibly the best chocolate flavoured drink which I have ever tasted... and as all my friends and family know that is a very big statement for me to make as I used to be addicted to Frijj chocolate milkshakes.

Zico naturally supports hydration with the help of five electrolytes - magnesium, calcium, sodium, phosphorus and as much potassium as a banana contains. The ingredients of Zico Chocolate are coconut water from concentrate, coconut cream, fat reduced cocoa, stabiliser: carrageenan, natural chocolate flavouring with other natural flavourings. There are 20 calories per 100ml, so therefore the 400ml bottle contains 80 calories, which I think is incredible for a chocolate flavoured drink compared to a Frijj milkshake which contains around 400 calories in a 400ml bottle.

I can say, however that I was a little worried about trying this drink as I did not know how how chocolate flavoured coconut water would taste as I tend to think of chocolate flavoured drinks to be quite thick.

Zico Chocolate has a thin consistency, like water I suppose and is chocolate brown in colour and in my opinion is best to drink when extra chilled as it is surprisingly very refreshing! It tastes exactly like a chocolate milk with a subtle coconut flavour. I have added on a few occasions Zico Chocolate to my protein shake (vanilla) in the morning which tastes amazing so it works as a great base.

You can also buy Zico Chocolate in a 1L bottle, but I personally find the 400ml bottles so handy as you can have a gorgeous drink on the go.

I love drinking Zico Chocolate for when I want something sweet, but do not want to be naughty and have some actual chocolate or sweets. I would definitely buy 'Zico Chocolate' again and cannot wait to purchase my next batch.

To find out all about Zico Chocolate, check out Zico's website (link below) where you can find out all about its overview, benefits and recipes.

Have you ever tried Zico Chocolate before? What other Zico flavours have you tried? What other coconut water do you like to drink?

Review - Jelly Belly 'Cocktail Classics' *

I absolutely love Jelly Beans and cocktails, so to have a box of the 'Jelly Belly Cocktail Classics' sent to me to review is amazing so thank you very much Jelly Belly!

The box, like its Jelly Bean flavours inside are elegant, being plain black with pictures of the five cocktails on the front - Pina Colada, Strawberry Daiquiri, Mojito, Peach Bellini and Pomegranate Cosmo. These cocktails are all timeless classics, so to have them portrayed through sweets is incredible... amazing flavours with no hangover (as they are non-alcoholic)!

The Jelly Beans are separated into different compartments inside and have pictures of the cocktails underneath on the box, so that you can see which ones you are munching on.

'Pina Colada' on Wikipedia is described as "a sweet, rum-based cocktail made with rum, cream of coconut and pineapple juice, usually served either blended or shaken with ice" and this is exactly what it tasted like, although I think I would have liked a little more pineapple flavour as I found the coconut quite overpowering.

Pina Colada
'Strawberry Daiquiri' was the next flavour I tried and this a plain Daiquiri is described by Wikipedia as "a family of cocktails whose main ingredients are rum, citrus (usually lime juice), and sugar or any other sweetener" with of course strawberry added to it. This was my best jelly bean by far, as I could taste the strawberry and also the tang of the citrus and rum.

Strawberry Daiquiri
'Mojito' is described by Wikipedia as "a cocktail that consists of five ingredients: white rum sugar (traditionally sugar cane juice), lime juice, sparkling water, and mint). In my opinion this tasted exactly like a Mojito, with the zingy aromatic mint and lime and the sweetness of the sugar.

Mojito
A 'Peach Bellini' is described by Wikipedia as "a mixture of Prosecco sparkling wine and peach puree or nectar" and this also tasted exactly like a real Peach Bellini, having the sweetness of the peach and then the gorgeous wine note coming in.

Peach Bellini
A 'Pomegranate Cosmo', being a Pomergrante Cosmopolitan, was described by Wikipedia as a "cocktail made with vodka, triple sec (orange), cranberry juice, and freshly squeezed or sweetened lime juice" with pomegranate juice being aded to it. This bean was my least favourite as I love pomegranates but found that there was not much pomegranate flavour to it, but instead had a real vodka flavour, which was not too nice.

Pomegranate Raspberry

My favourite 'Jelly Bean Cocktail Classic' was the 'Strawberry Daiquri' followed closely by the 'Pina Colada' as I found that they tasted most like the actual cocktails and did not have a heavy alcohol bite to it, like the Pomegranate Cosmo did.

I would definately purchase this box of 'Cocktail Classics' again as I think that it is a great novelty present to give to someone - my sister actually gave another box of these to me on my birthday with some other presents which was lovely :)

The 'Jelly Bean Cocktail Classics' box retails at £7.00 (for a 125g box) and can be purchased from John Lewis (link below), but I also know that you can purchase these from Very and many other shops when I looked online earlier.

Have you tried any of the 'Jelly Bean Cocktail Classics' flavours? If so, which 'Jelly Belly' flavour is your favourite?

Review - Leighton Denny Nail Polish in 'Plush Pink'

You can probably tell from my recent blog posts that I am obsessed with nail polishes at the moment and have found another one to review for you all.

The nail polish I will be reviewing is called 'Plush Pink' and is by the amazing Leighton Denney, which as you can see from the swatches below is a deep, hot pink and is a really beautiful colour!

Leighton Denny is a leading expert with a multi-award wining range of nail and tanning products and I am actually choosing Leighton Denny nail polishes over OPI at the moment, as they have on offer some really gorgeous colours.

Before applying any nail polish to my nails I apply a thin layer of 'OPI Base Coat' and then I apply two coats of the nail polish which I am using and then a layer of 'OPI Top Coat' over the top for extra shine and to prevent chipping. Before I use any nail polish I roll the bottle between my hands, being careful not to shake as this causes air bubbles and therefore spoils it. This process makes sure that pigments are mixed. I always make sure that I apply two thin coats rather than one thick coat as this helps reduce chipping and extends wear time.

'Plush Pink' retails for £11.00, like most other Leighton Denny nail polishes and has 12ml of lacquer within the bottle. I purchased this nail polish from John Lewis, and I have put the link below.

Have you tried this shade before or any other Leighton Denny polishes before? What nail polish brand is your favourite?
